My Simple Tips on Economising Wisely

posted on 26 January 2012

Most people are obsessed with shopping unnecessarily whenever they go to market. They are carried away by low prices and small incentives given by shop keepers thus they buy things that don't have any present use and spoil their budget. No wonder the debt consolidation companies are overwhelmed at the moment! I avoid this by calculating expenditure on education, health, travelling, utility bills, food etc and then I don't allow myself to over spend on any item. Moreover, I prepare a list of products that I need in the entire month and I buy them from market in one go to avoid number of trips and their cost. To control my utility bills I keep a check on electricity meter if I feel that the number of electricity units consumed is increasing my budget then I cut my energy demand to manage bills. I have already installed less energy consuming appliances in my house and prefer to use appliances (geysers) that run on solar energy.

So That Was The Reason Andy Left

It took me a full month to realize that one of the HR people who used to visit the production floor every now and then and has befriended a lot of the agents in the process. We were not really close per say but we do exchange smiles when we happen to see each other in the hallway and anywhere else in the office. When I realized she was gone I asked Lisa what happened to Andy (the HR person) and I was filled in with all the juicy tidbits of why she resigned effective immediately. According to the grapevine she was the reason why an emergency electrician was terminated. There was a power outage which was not attended to immediately because the on call electrician at that time was not in the building supposedly doing some errands from Andy. What the errands were no one has any idea but the power outage lasted for two hours and that is totally unacceptable. When the electrician arrived it was too late the power was back and so were his boss informing him he was fired then and there.

The Motorhome Holiday I Will Never Ever Forget

posted on 24 January 2012

Last year I decided to hire a motorhome and travel around East Anglia. I really enjoyed the whole notion of being able to control every aspect of the holiday - where I went to, when I went there, and the whole style of this type of holiday. I met fellow "motorhomers" and had a great time with them at various camp sites. I realise that this is a way of life for some people, who are on the road 12 months a year! That's something I would love to do when I retire - to be the constant tourer - taking in all the sights and sounds of this wonderful island called the UK. Retirement is just 10 years away, so I have plenty of time to save up and plan for such a life. I certainly plan to go on another motorhome holiday this year - I'm not sure where though!

Fresh talent and passion in doing something is found in kids

I love wood and anything that is made out of it. I had an apartment for a while and I saved money so that I could build my own place. I wanted a place that was small and one that was a distance from the city. The noise and the rush of the city were not good for relaxation. So I got a designer who shared my passion for wood and he gave me very good ideas of how to furnish my house and still make it very cozy. He took me t o several vocational schools and he told me that there was very good talent there. That was because the schools were consisted of young people who were very passionate about what they were doing and they had the zeal to learn. I decided to arrange for some investors to take a look at their work and see if they could donate grants for vocational schools. I got very good feedback because they were very interested and amazed by what they saw. That is when they decided to support these talented young people by giving them the grants.
